You and yours, fantastic scenery, great food, and a desire to explore by bike: this terrific chain of events brings us together for a memorable day.
For the past four years, I’ve been leading tours in Napa and Sonoma. Motivated by the wonderful people I meet on these trips and the natural beauty of the area, I became inspired to introduce San Francisco visitors to the equally beautiful treasures of Marin County. That’s how Chain, Chain, Chain Marin County Bike Tours geared up.
As a Marin local, I welcome you and your group as my special biking guests. I am excited to lead you on a cycling excursion and introduce you to some favorite spots in Marin, my home. I can begin many sentences with, “when I was a little girl” but won’t (unless you ask).
My goal is to make your day rich with memories. Offering you my expert guiding skills, a seasonally fresh lunch, and capturing vivid photos of your journey, I guarantee you a safe, pleasurable, and delightful sensory experience.
And, who knows, we might also bring along some Motown tunes for a lunchtime beat. Chain, Chain, Chain welcomes you. Venture north of San Francisco and come along for the ride!
SARA TERRIEN | founder & guide
Always inspired by health and fitness, beauty and balance, it wasn’t hard for me to identify that a bike tour through Marin County could link them together. The bike provides the fitness and the beauty jumps out as a vista of the Pacific Ocean or reveals as a hidden redwood grove. With every turn of the pedals my senses are invigorated by riding through the micro-climates and over the macro-hills of the Bay Area and I am excited to introduce you to my local favorites.
A BICYCLE ODYSSEY | gear gurus
Since 1975 this bike shop has been a fixture on Bridgeway (Sausalito's main street) and a place where tourists, commuters, racers and roadies visit in equal numbers. Tony and his staff live, breathe, and talk bicycles and cycling all day, every day, and there isn’t a bike frame they haven’t fixed or fitted for every body. Tony knows that bicycles and cycling can be enjoyed on many different levels, from recreational to racing, and I am thrilled that he is the cycling fanatic supplying Chain, Chain, Chain with the best hybrid bikes and service in Marin.
You may be (very) familiar with the flatbread crackers from Rustic Bakery sold in specialty grocery stores across the country. But residents of Marin County are lucky to enjoy the sweet and savory menu that grew this business to a lines-out-the-door cafe. At Rustic Bakery and Café, you will find farm direct ingredients and freshly baked goods prepared on site long before daybreak.
Rustic's founder and co-owner, Carol LeValley, now creates a sweet and savory picnic lunch exclusively for Chain Chain Chain riders to enjoy en route. Two locally owned businesses come together to showcase our local best. What a treat!
